Verne Technology presents the NEA 340 COMPACT: dense phase conveying in a compact format

Pneumatic powder conveying is one of those operations that, when it works well, goes completely unnoticed. When it works badly, however, it translates into wasted product, runaway air consumption and line downtime. With the NEA 340 COMPACT, Verne Technology carries forward its philosophy of dense phase low pressure (DPLP) transfer in a device designed for those who need high performance in a reduced footprint.

What the NEA 340 COMPACT is

The NEA 340 COMPACT is a system designed to convey large quantities of powder from one point of the plant to another, exploiting the dense phase principle. Unlike traditional Venturi-type pumps, in which a large amount of air is continuously mixed into the product flow, the NEA 340 introduces into the flow only the air strictly necessary to move the powder out of the pump and into the delivery hose.

The result is gentler conveying of the product, contained air consumption and greater overall efficiency. The pump’s design, combined with the small-diameter suction and delivery hoses, also enables a fast and complete purge: a decisive advantage when working with frequent product changeovers.

Key technical specifications

  • Flow rate up to 4 kg/min
  • Supply pressure: min 6 bar (0.6 MPa) – max 8 bar (0.8 MPa)
  • Air consumption: 400 l/min
  • Weight: 17.5 kg
  • Operating ambient temperature: from +15 to +40 °C
  • Transport hose: up to 30 m – suction hose: up to 6 m (polyethylene or antistatic, 16 mm I.D.)
  • ATEX certification: Ex II 3 D c T6, compliant with directives 94/9/EC (ATEX) and 98/37/EEC (Machinery)

The transport pressure is set according to the particle size and specific weight of the powder, as well as the conveying distance: the product documentation includes a reference table that allows the optimal values for each type of material to be set quickly.
